Wise, the global technology company building the best way to move and manage money, today announced a further £1,000,000 commitment to carbon removal projects through its partnership with Opna, a high-impact carbon removal company. The expanded collaboration brings the total commitment via Opna to £1.5m, to be channelled into high-integrity, nature-powered projects in climate-vulnerable regions across Latin America (LatAm) and Asia-Pacific (APAC), in line with Wise’s expansion markets.
Initially partnering with Opna in March 2025, Wise has now doubled its budget from £500k in FY25 to an additional £1m in FY26, proving long-term commitment to high-impact carbon removal and climate leadership. This leadership is also demonstrated through their approach to removing carbon emissions – tying its overall ESG budget to business growth, ensuring the company’s climate commitments scale with their commercial success.
Building on the trust and proven impact established throughout the past year, Wise and Opna’s collaboration further invests into high-integrity, nature-powered carbon removal projects across Wise’s key growth markets in Latin America (LatAm) and Asia-Pacific (APAC). This investment forms a central part of Wise’s ESG (environment, social and governance) strategy for FY26, and represents progress towards its commitment to measurable, lasting, and socially impactful climate action.

“Through our partnership with Opna, we’re delivering genuine climate impact in the regions that need it most. This additional investment represents our evolution beyond traditional carbon accounting – we're creating a model where our climate action scales with our business growth and addresses the emissions that are hardest to tackle through conventional reduction strategies.”
Opna's demonstrated ability to deliver measurable impact through high-integrity carbon removal projects across LatAm and APAC made them the natural partner for this expanded commitment. The additional contribution will support Opna's portfolio of nature-based and hybrid carbon removal solutions, continuing to deliver community co-benefits alongside environmental impact.

By tying their investments to business growth, they're demonstrating that climate action can be both strategic and scalable. We're honoured by their continued trust and excited to deliver even greater impact together.”
This expanded partnership reinforces Opna's mission to unlock climate finance for high-impact projects in climate-vulnerable regions with speed, scale and equity.
